CAN Young Artists Sonic Stories sharing in December 2025

We wrapped up the end of our exciting 2025 programme for CAN Young Artists with a sharing of their latest project, Sonic Stories, for friends, families and our supporters with at Saturday 6 December at Contact

Using drama, mask work, animation, song writing, music, and positive affirmations, Sonic Stories explored the concept of transformation within ourselves and the world around us.

CAN Young Artists is aimed at young people, aged 13 – 20, from the city’s diverse communities, including young people who’ve experienced forced migration.

CAN Young Artists contributes to young people’s well-being by creating a safe space to discover their creative skills and build their self-esteem. Some of the young people have arrived unaccompanied to the UK.

An important aspect of CAN Young Artists is how the programme supports unaccompanied young people to make friends and to build their English skills.

“The first time, I was really shy, but now this group is like my family…I love it!”

“In the beginning, I was so shy, and I’m not confident with my English, but I can show my progress with English.”
